Bouquet Recipe Feature on Wedding Chicks

We were just recently featured over at Wedding Chicks for one of our very own Bouquet Recipes that we created especially for them.  I wanted something soft textural and romantic with the best of the best in terms of flowers.  You’ll notice some of my absolute favorites mixed up in this beautiful bunch…Hellebores, Blushing Bride Protea and pieris japonica.  Read on to see what Wedding Chicks wrote about this little pretty!

As wedding bouquet obsessives, naturally we jump at any opportunity to share a pretty bouquet recipe with you. Knowing the exact flowers used in a bouquet allows you to share exactly what you are looking for in your wedding bouquet.

Today we have a darling white, pink and green wedding bouquet from the creative floral genius Aly from The Vine’s Leaf. An Orange County florist who knows a thing or two about putting together a pretty bouquet. Aly is also part of our hand-picked wedding collection, learn more about Aly here and read on to learn the exact florals in this simply darling wedding bouquet. Photographed beautifully byLane Dittoe Photography.

If you plan on creating your own wedding bouquet, we listed the florals below for this pink, green and white wedding bouquet as well as what season they thrive in. The chalkboard sign used above is from Melinda Wedding Design . They also carry burlap ribbon, as you see Aly used burlap ribbon in the bouquet wrap.

Pink Cafe Au’lait Dahlias: fresh cut dahlias are available Aug-Sept.
Pieris Japonica: also known as lily-of-the-valley, is a year round flower. However, March it is almost completely covered in bell-shaped, creamy white blooms. Perfect for a wedding bouquet.
Pink Astilbe: blooms from June through August and can be used in dried flower arrangements as well.
Iceberg Roses: most popular roses. Pure white double blooms are produced continuously all season
Hellebores-: produce some of the most treasured flowers of winter and early spring.

A little post to honor this Indian Summer-like weather for today.  I wanted to share with you these beautiful Photos from Steph Anderson Photography. Steph has been a friend of mine almost from the very moment that I can recall having friends as a child.  We grew up together in San Clemente, and she carted me through my shy elementary school days, onto my awkward middle school days and then of course to my rebellious high school days where we became serious partners in crime! We are now refined and respectful Wives and Mother’s with blossoming families.  We have grown in life together, the two of us, and now we have officially come together to bring you this beachy and fresh maternity shoot.  She asked me to create head wreaths for Ashley and Emianna…whatever I wanted to make! So I came up with these little lovelies, a personal favorite of mine so far.  Steph captured Ashley and Emianna just perfectly, their easy casualness, their sweet playfulness…love the warmth and comfort that emanates from these photos.  Steph has a serious talent for fresh and beautiful family photography, seriously…check.her.out. Steph, Ashley and Emianna, Thank you for these BEAUTIFUL photos and for being your fabulous selves!

And a little note from Steph herself, on the inspiration behind this session:

“Ashley, daughter of famous longboard shaper Bill Stewart, is expecting her second baby girl in November. I really wanted to do a bohemian/beachy maternity shoot with Ashley and her look-alike 3 year old, Emianna. I knew I wanted white dresses and beautiful flower headwreaths. I also wanted to take the pictures at a place that had meaning to Ashley. Trestles was the perfect spot… the best surfing beach in San Clemente with a beautiful, tree-lined trail. Aly from The Vines Leaf made the most beautiful & delicate flower wreaths for both of them to wear. Ashley wore a bathingsuit cover-up by L Space and Emianna wore a darling dress from Zara. It turned out exactly as I had hoped and that belly of hers is just too perfect for words!!!”

Today we have a little bit of fantastic-ness to share with you in this art-filled wedding that we collaborated on with Lindye Galloway Events and Mark Brooke Photographers.  Jen and Matt’s late summer wedding was held at The Montage in Laguna Beach, one of the most classic and elegant beach Venues our Southern California Coast has to offer.  The details here are awesome…Seriously, working with a fab group of artists on a wedding makes my day…no wait, makes my year! I love it when we get to collaborate with someone who has a vision and then let’s us run wild with our ideas…Jen did just THAT! She was such a fun and easygoing bride that had her own personal style and flare to her…Lindye and I took her personality and applied it to her wedding to make it unique, romantic, and artsy, with a touch of vintage modern elements.  Mark Brooke Photographers did a FANTASTIC job at capturing the feel of the day, I love the colors in the photos, the soft tones that they incorporated, seriously gorgeous. I love it…I love it all. So without further adieu…the beautiful evidence of this outrageously fun event!

Loving the mix of textures and colors that she had for the Bridesmaid’s dresses…paired with their warm ivory Bridesmaids Bouquets filled with white astilbe,  white lisianthus, vendela roses, dusty miller and gold-leafed foliage!

Vintage Modern gold frames and beautiful text That Lindye created…signage makes all the difference!

Drumstick Escort Cards…Genius!

My personal favorite blooms and color scheme of the year…Cafe Au’Lait Dahlias, peach garden roses, maidenhair ferns and dusty miller…love the soft palette. All held in a perfectly stained wood box to coordinate beautifully with the Market Table Runners.

How awesome is this vintage silverware Kraft Paper runner?

This was honestly one of Lindye’s shining moments as a designer, she created a HUGE wall of beautifully folded and painted music pages and suspended them behind the Band.  An amazing backdrop, so simple and beautiful…I’m sure it only took a few short hours to create…;)

Thank you to Lindye Galloway and Mark Brooke Photographers for helping to create and capture all of this gorgeousness for Jen and Matt…Congratulations!!

For the love of love!

This year I have been blessed more than ever with the most amazing clients, super fun to work with and incredibly grateful when everything is all said and done.  This year, we have really been honing in on our customer care skills and really working more closely than ever with our clients to make their dream visions into a true (and beautiful!) reality.  Dreaming up beautiful things and creating them is truly our passion here at The Vine’s Leaf, and I would do it day in and day out without getting paid a dime and without a single Thank You, but I have to be honest…getting an unexpected Thank You note in the mail or in my inbox from a recent Bride simply makes my day.  It just does.  I truly care about making it the best day ever for them, and to hear that I had a part in making everything fabulous makes every single bit of hard work, long hours, and multiple work weekends worth every SINGLE second! Here are some of the sweet notes that I have recently been surprised with from this years weddings…LOVE LOVE LOVE.

”What an incredible job you did for Trevor and Cate! Everything was beautiful-just how I like it! Every detail so perfectly executed-you have a gift girl! A big Thanks-I am still enjoying the last bits of flowers, I keep changing and pulling and reinventing new arrangements with all of the flowers.  It’s been a week and a half of flower joy around here…Grateful!

{Debbie Gjersvold, September 2012 George Key Ranch}

“I can’t thank the Vine’s Leaf enough for designing such beautiful flowers for my wedding.  The bouquets and centerpieces were more beautiful than I had imagined, and perfectly captured the feel I was hoping for on my wedding day.  Aly was incredibly helpful in coming up with ideas to tie together the different segments of my wedding, and she creatively suggested ways to use the ceremony and bridesmaids’ flowers at the reception to add to the look while keeping things within my budget.  Aly clearly has an artistic eye and a passion for her work, and it showed as she helped to make my special day even more amazing.”
