When I first saw the paper, I was with Mary and Jill and immediately we all started throwing words out. Moroccan, opulent, elegant, colorful… With that, the ideas started flowing. As I started curating the idea and pulling pictures of inspirations, it became clear that this was not a “soft, blush colored” shoot. We wanted bold color, bold statements and bold pieces. I liked the idea of using golds and brasses to accent the metallic in the paper. I wanted the table to feel like a family style feast. We incorporated vibrant fruits like Kiwi, Blood Orange, Pomegranate and Tangerines not only as color accents but as edible table elements. Jay’s Catering created a blood orange and mint libation as well as a blood orange and pistachio salad that was not only colorful, but was also delicious! Aly from The Vine’s Leaf seriously nailed it with her large, bright blooms and those brass lanterns were to die for. They were the perfect metal compliment to the paper. I liked the idea of using rich woods and vibrant pieces in the furniture, so the dining tables and mid-century modern lounge fromArchive Rentals was perfect. Jill (her talent has no end, truthfully) created a flower hairpiece for the bride. And it was a perfect pop. I really wanted to show brides that if you find an element you really like, you can incorporate that inspiration anywhere in your wedding. Your table, your hair, in a commissioned art piece, even directly onto your cake. Your wedding is all about you and your story, so if you find something that is reminiscent of you and your style – use it!!
