Hotel Del Coronado Wedding

Constance Curtis and I had a blast pulling the details together for this wedding!  Erika was a super classic and timeless kind of a bride.  Her family has a tradition of staying at the Hotel Del Coronado every summer so it was an obvious place for her to marry her Prince Charming.  We wanted a very regal and classic feel with a bright and beachy lightness to it, so we chose the pale yellows with whites and greens with a tiny pop of blue.

 Erika’s wedding was in the perfect time of the year to get the coveted yellow peonies in the mix…pure amazingness.

For the ceremony, we took the Gazebo at the Hotel Del Coronado and draped the front of it in a beautiful raw silk fabric to soften (and hide!) the existing lattice work that was behind it.  We bordered it with two think bands and tiebacks of hydrangea, dahlias and fluffy green viburnum.

For the reception we used a vintage crystal and gold candelabra that perfectly fit the feel of the Grand Ballroom…totally old world charm! We went with all tall centerpieces to fill the large room and high ceilings.  The head table was filled with an eclectic mix of vintage crystal vases with peonies, garden roses ranunculus and hydrangea (not pictured here).

{Manhattan Beach Engagement Shoot}

Here is a fun photo shoot that I worked on with Constance Curtis Events in Manhattan Beach  We used beautiful rustic elements like an old farm table with mismatched vintage chairs from Ribbons and Rust and mixed them with a flowing linen backdrop that created a perfect Ocean vignette.  We used simple hydrangeas, viburnum and kale set in vintage milk glass.  The Shoot was featured on Style Me Pretty a few weeks back…here is a small snippet from Constance herself! Read on for all of the details…

“When Kara + Jason were first engaged, I wanted to gift them with something special. With the help of my fabulous and very talented vendors, I was able to create an engagement shoot and inspired engagement party that symbolizes them as a couple. As a planner, when creating a wedding or any event, it’s important to get to know the couple and create something that is unique for them. My overall vision for this shoot was earthy meets clean lines and crisp white color on a sandy beach that captures both Kara’s style and the great memories we have together.”
