Rustic Ivory and Succulent Wedding

The Villa in San Juan Capistrano is one of our favorite venues in Orange County. With all its natural beauty, there isn’t much anyone has to do to make a bride feel like she’s having her dream wedding!

Have you seen The Villa? There are so many elements that make it so gorgeous from the walkway entrance to the gorgeous offering candles in the chapel!

We used The Villa as inspiration in our centerpieces and the design we added to the venue; all natural and simple to create one cohesive look. We used a simple garland of torn muslin, burlap and ribbon as Sarisa + Ryan’s ceremony backdrop and smaller versions of the garland to accent chairs along the aisle. And for our tables and centerpieces, we used simple wooden boxes as vessels and filled them with hydrangea, lisianthus, brunia, astilbe, roses, succulents and gorgeous maidenhair fern. We also had some tables with simple candle pillars with accented moss and succulents.

The details Sarisa added to her day were unreal; so creative, cute and special. Each table setting included simple buttons with her guests’ name that gave the feeling of intimacy and care for each of their guests, The bride and groom had a subtle “direction and compass” theme with globes, maps, and simple quotes throughout the venue.

Bouquet Recipe Feature on Wedding Chicks

We were just recently featured over at Wedding Chicks for one of our very own Bouquet Recipes that we created especially for them.  I wanted something soft textural and romantic with the best of the best in terms of flowers.  You’ll notice some of my absolute favorites mixed up in this beautiful bunch…Hellebores, Blushing Bride Protea and pieris japonica.  Read on to see what Wedding Chicks wrote about this little pretty!

As wedding bouquet obsessives, naturally we jump at any opportunity to share a pretty bouquet recipe with you. Knowing the exact flowers used in a bouquet allows you to share exactly what you are looking for in your wedding bouquet.

Today we have a darling white, pink and green wedding bouquet from the creative floral genius Aly from The Vine’s Leaf. An Orange County florist who knows a thing or two about putting together a pretty bouquet. Aly is also part of our hand-picked wedding collection, learn more about Aly here and read on to learn the exact florals in this simply darling wedding bouquet. Photographed beautifully byLane Dittoe Photography.

If you plan on creating your own wedding bouquet, we listed the florals below for this pink, green and white wedding bouquet as well as what season they thrive in. The chalkboard sign used above is from Melinda Wedding Design . They also carry burlap ribbon, as you see Aly used burlap ribbon in the bouquet wrap.

Pink Cafe Au’lait Dahlias: fresh cut dahlias are available Aug-Sept.
Pieris Japonica: also known as lily-of-the-valley, is a year round flower. However, March it is almost completely covered in bell-shaped, creamy white blooms. Perfect for a wedding bouquet.
Pink Astilbe: blooms from June through August and can be used in dried flower arrangements as well.
Iceberg Roses: most popular roses. Pure white double blooms are produced continuously all season
Hellebores-: produce some of the most treasured flowers of winter and early spring.

As the weather warms up, a beach wedding sounds ideal. Picture the rolling cliffs and the crystal blue ocean as the backdrop to your ceremony, we can’t think of a prettier setting. Jacquie and Greg could not agree more. They chose a San Clemente cliff side camp spot for their ceremony and headed over to theHistoric Cottage San Clemente for their ceremony.

Most all the details were crafted by Jacquie. Umbrellas & fans for the ceremony, mason jars for the guests’ cocktails, succulent filled window panes, burlap banners, wine barrels as cocktail tables and wooden signs directing guests to each location. She did it all with a little help from event plannerKimberly Conners. You can see all the pretty details up close in the full gallery. Photographed byMatthew Morgan Photography.

First off how incredibly fabulous are those Christian Louboutin shoes?

Yes, they are quite unique along with the rest of this DIY wedding that My Bride Story shared with us. This is one of those weddings where it actually rained, and a few changes were made, but overall everything turned out to be perfect. Filled with the most exquisite DIY details. That were all done by the bride. This is sure to be one of those weddings you will look back on for a few ideas.

{Rustic Wedding Ideas}

Kristen + Morgan tied the knot at Dove Canyon in Rancho Santa Margarita.  Kristin had a very rustic and wild feel to her wedding infused with all of the warm elements of fall.  Her Bridesmaids were clad in olive green dresses with vintage cowboy boots and she had hers to match! We created an arch draped with orange and red fall leaves, burlap and berries.  The Bouquets were filled with twigs, twine and woodsy accents, finished off in a soft burlap wrap.  For centerpieces we used chocolate brown Manzanita Branches glowing from hanging votives and deep burgundy dahlias with sunset-tones roses…Beautiful! Take a Peek! Thank you to Jeffrey Neal Photography for the amazing images!
